Tokyosnowlet: Down the Red Carpet #3

Down the Red Carpet #3

  • 82nd Annual Oscars - Part 3
This time I'll start with my least favourite first. Ok?

Although Mariah Carey looks beautiful in her Valentino Haute Couture midnight-blue gown with a thigh-high slit, I believe she could have done A LOT better with other gowns. I just feel that the part of the dress on her shoulder is very disturbing, better without it. And she should wear a pair of sparkling silver heels to match her silver jeweled Judith Leiber clutch. Well that's my opinion. Jewelries on her are a H. Stern floral diamond cuff bracelet, a Van Cleef & Arpels 'Envol' diamond butterfly ring plus her own stacked diamond tennis bracelets on the other arm (not holding the clutch).

I like the slim cut of Maggie Gyllenhaal's Dries Van Noten dress, but not the print. A lil messy for me. On her hair is a Jennifer Behr custom-made jet crystal hair piece with a pair of vintage ivory and diamond calla lily pendant earrings, a vintage 18k yellow gold and diamond bracelet and a vintage platinum and diamond bracelet with emerald and sapphire brooch. All 3 from Fred Leighton. Vintage.

I really love Amanda Seyfried mint green Armani Privé gown encrusted with Swarovski crystals! Looks something like Jennifer Lopez's gown. Her gown went very well with her Brian Atwood heels and a blackened platinum diamond earrings, a brown diamond ball ring, and a 250-carat brown, champagne and mint diamond geometric bracelets all from Lorraine Schwartz. Classy!

Vera Farmiga's fan-pleated red Marchesa gown is really an attention seeker! She went on minimal accesories but still shiny 1930s opal and diamond ear clips and diamond, platinum hair clip brooches, and a 1940s diamond cluster ring. All from Fred Leighton.

The moment I look at her, I immediately know that the 1930s platinum and diamond bracelets and the 22-carat emerald ring are all from Bulgari. She looks just so calm, simple yet beautiful in her custom Clavin Klein collection gown. Her 22-carat ererald ring stands out the most.

Elizabeth Banks looks so stunningly beautiful in her grey Versace gown, paired up with a dark grey snakeskin and silver minaudiere Ferragamo clutch and Sergio Rossi grey suede platform sandals with crystal embellishment. She added a Fred Leighton blackened diamond headband, 19th-century diamond flower ear clips, 19th-century sapphire and diamond cluster ring. All from Fred Leighton. She's definitely one of the best dressed actress there.

I picked Avatar actress, Zoe Saldana as the best dressed celeb for this post, and also best among all the 21 celebs here! Firstly, I love purple, that's why I like everything on her. Lol. Secondly, her ruffled purple gown from Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci is really beautiful and it matches her face and her skin and hair colour. She paired it with a Givenchy clutch (can't be seen in the picture) and purple suede platform sandals by Givenchy too. She blinged herself with a custom 20-carat bronzed platinum diamond drop earrings and an 80-carat amethyst and diamond inlay ring both from Lorraine Schwartz. Beautiful!

So among all these 21 beautiful actresses and A-listers here, which is your favourite?
