Went into Fendi and chit-chat, talk here talk there, discuss, see some bags with the very same sales assistant that has been serving me since last year June. She's a very nice person, and so are the other Fendi sales assistants. =DSo here are some stuff I've seen and "played" with in the store. Haha.
The classico collection. This bag has the "square box" kind of element just like Celine's box bag (yeah you get it). What I was given to see and carry was the Classico 1 and 3 which is the 2 left ones. It's a very simple and classic-looking bag. What I like about these 2 bags are the turning-lock pad just like the Peekaboo's and the brown leather. From a distance you would actually see it's somehow like sting-ray leather, but it's actually calf leather. What's cool about these 2 bags is that you can stamp your initials of up to 3 letters on the leather tag.
The Classico 1 is actually a very small bag, thus it won't look good on guys whereas the Classico 3 suits more for the elderly ladies. I'm not sure about the Classico 3 but it should be somewhere around the same price as the Classico 1 which retails at RM4,910.
Interestingly, my sales assistant brought out the Classico 3 in orange leather for me. As first glance, it took me some time to acquire the colour of the bag. but it grew on me and after my sales assistant explained the bag to me, I thought it was a beautiful bag!The orange was just stunning and striking (the photo above is not as striking as the real one) and the leather was just so nice to touch. The orange Classico 3 is made of soft calf leather and suede leather.
According to my sales assistant, soft calf leather is a leather not treated with anything, but just with a layer of oil. The downside on soft calf leather is that, colour transfer happens VERY fast. I'll explain more about it later.
No matter how nice the Classico 3 in orange leather is and how much you want it, it's only a sample bag and it's only for commercial use, not for sale. At least I managed to hold it. =D
The Peekaboo bag. This bag is the house icon for Fendi and it's a must-have for all Fendi lovers (just like me)! As I've mentioned a few months ago, you can either purchase the ready-made ones or order the Made-to-Order version. For the Made-to-Order Peekaboo, you can order it either in calf leather, ostrich skin or crocodile leather. There are 3 different sizes which is the small, regular, and large. I'm not sure of the measurement of the small one, but the regular is just a few inches taller than the small one. As for the large one, it's about 39cm wide and 28cm high (Lol my sales assistant brought out the ruler to measure it).
As for the calf leather there are more than 10 colours to choose from. For the small one, it costs around RM8000, the regular one slightly more expensive at I think RM8,800+ and RM11,010 for the large one. Unfortunately, the only option for the inside lining is linen. But still it looks good!
For the Ostrich leather, it comes in around 10 colours too. I think for the small one it's around RM33,000+, not sure about the regular one, and RM52,000+ for the large one.
And for the crocodile skin version, there was around 10 colours to choose from, but now they have about I think 30+ different colours and 2 types of crocodile skin which is the matte (not so glossy) and the glossy one. My sales assistant actually brought 2 booklets which had like, 30+ small pieces of REAL crocodile skin in different colours each, one in matte crocodile skin and the other the glossy one. The skin was so nice to touch~ There are 3 species of crocodile they get the skin from which is the Niloticus, Porosus and um... Alligator Missipensis or something like that lol.
Ok for the price. The small one comes at RM77,000, the regular one at around RM100,000, and the large one at RM118,000. For me, I think it's NOT worth the dollars spending RM20,000++ for the few inches height taller than the small one. My sales assistant said so too.
For the Ostrich and Crocodile, I think you can choose leather or suede lining for the inside. Oh and for all the Peekaboo, there is a gold-plated plate in the bag and you can have your initials stamped on it with up to 7 letters or 5 letters with the dots between the letters.
OR, you can purchase the ready-made ones, just like the ones below. Lol.
Ok, the soft calf leather peekaboo in Burgundy (large) and Black (regular). I think it should be around RM8000 to RM9000. As I mentioned just now, colour transfer happens VERY fast on this bag. According to my sales assistant, a lady bought the large burgundy one, and carried for only an hour, and the bag already had the colour of her chiffon blouse on the bag. Sad.Oh and did I mentioned that it is very easily scratched? Oh yes it is.
Another one off the fall-winter collection. Both the Peekaboos above are in light blue colour, which is quite a dull colour, but still a soft colour. The one on the left has the Fendi Zucca lining (the FF monogram) and costs around RM8000+ while the one in the right has a python skin lining and it retails at RM11,840. I had the chance the check the python skin lining one again, lol. It's a very nice bag, but it doesn't suit me.
I, personally, LOVE the python skin Peekaboo. And YES I actually had the chance to hold the Peekaboo right at the left in the photo. STUNNING! The python skin is so...scaly~ The bag's lining is the Zucca monogram in er...canvas and gold colour FF letters. Very nice! This one retails for around RM17,000+ and there are only 2 that came in. Oh wait, one is already sold out, so there's one more if you want! Quickly grab it before I grab it! Lol!
Besides the python skin one, there's one more in cream-coloured watersnake skin. I couldn't find the photo for it.
But it looks something like the one above, maybe a lil bit lighter. The bag has a watersnake skin divider and black suede lining. Very very sophisticated bag. The bag has been in the store for quite a long time already and no one has bought it yet. If you're interested to buy it, you can drop by the boutique and have a look at it, it costs around RM19,000+. This one's a very very classy bag.I remember quite some time ago, I blogged about the 24-karat gold-plated python skin Peekaboo.
Yes the one above. NO I didn't get to hold it lol. According to my sales assistant, there are only 14 made, and already 9 has been sold, the latest purchaser is from Thailand. 5 more to go! Oh it's around RM11,400.Besides the Peekaboo, there are several other items I checked out at the store.
The twin bag (the 3 colour one). I didn't touch it or hold it, but from far it looked very shiny. I think it should cost around RM6000++.
I also managed to check out the 2 bags in the photo above. These 2 bags are for those who wants to own a designer bag without any loud monograms to show off. The left one is quite a practical bag. It has 2 compartments, both with zippers and in the middle, is an open compartment where you can just tuck in your scarf or cardigan into that compartment. The middle compartment is lined with the Fendi Zucca monogram. The one on the right is rather an interesting one. It's called the Villa Borghese bag. It has the horse logo of Fendi embossed on the front of the bag. It also has a lot of the Selleria stitching. Very beautiful bag. For this bag, the one I saw was in caramel, not as stunning as the red one in the photo though.
Both of these bags retails at RM8000++.
Last but not least, the Fendi 10th Annieversary Baguette bag. These, are, so, cute! They come in 10 different colours because it's the Baguette's 10th annieversary. I manage to see the yellow, green, black and pink ones. All comes in leather and retails at RM4,380. You can use it as a handbag, or remove the strap and use it as a clutch!Of course besides the handbag, I also checked out the smal leather goods.
What I saw was the Mia Wood and Plexi buckle belt. I, LOVE the wood and plexi buckle, really glossy and it gives the solid feeling as it's really heavy. LOL! I think each belt retails around RM2,000.
Lol this belt. I TRIED IT ON! =D It fits me perfectly, but it happened the jeans I wore that day was a high waist one, so it looked really horrible on me that day lol. This one retails at RM1,060. Should I get this for my birthday? XD
Lol on that day I brought along my grey Fendi messenger bag, and there was this sneaker sitting right there, in the same EXACT colour as my bag! LOL! My sales assistant asked me to try it on lol, but I didn't. I like the metal FF plate. Shiny~ Didn't find out about the price. As a fan of watches, of course I had to check out the watches too!
And one of my favourite is the Selleria watch! This watch comes in 2 straps of your choice and it retails for around RM4,000++. I tell you, it's so EASY to change the straps for the watch. Very nicely designed. I personally LOVE the Selleria stitching detail on the case of the watch. Really neat.My sales assistant showed me a keychain which looks like a huge ball of plexi with wood inside which has the FF logo. Really nice, really heavy. It retails for RM830.
Recently, Fendi launched a new watch collection called the Crazy Carats. It's a collection of watches, adorned with semi-precious and precious stones on each watch. Let me explain as we go along the pictures
Like the picture above. They are actually the very same watch. Each watch has 2 crowns, one at 3.30 o'clock and the other at 9.30 o'clock. If your watch is showing the rubies just like the one at the far left, when you turn one of the crowns (not sure which), the stones will turn over and the diamonds will appear. And if you turn more, the diamonds would turn over and the sapphire would appear! So cool right?! Each watch has 3 different faces of stones. There are many choices from which you can choose from. The common feature of all these watches are the stones on each hour of the watch. The difference is that, some have diamonds on the number 12, 6 and 9 on the watch, some have diamonds just around the smaller dial inside, some have diamonds at the outer dial, and some even have diamonds everywhere!
There are 2 types of collection of these watches. One is the semi-precious stones and the other precious stones. The semi-precious stones collection has topaz of all kinds of colours on the watch while the precious stones collection is adorned with diamonds, rubies, and sapphires (either blue, pink, or both).
You can choose between a black dial, silver, or piuter coloured dial.
Like this watch. It is adorned with colourful topaz and I believe the 2 other faces of stones are also topaz. This one has diamonds on the number 12, 6 and 9 and has diamonds encrusted on the inner and outed dial. This watch obviously has a black dial.
This one has a silver coloured dial.
And this one, piuter. If you notice between the pictures, the piuter dial shows a gradient-like reflection on the dial between grey and silver. Really cool.According to my sales assistant, these watches will arrive somewhere around next month, although it was launched on the 5th of August.
These watches ranges from RM10,000++ for the semi-precious stones collection and up to RM50,000 for the precious stones collection. I'm not sure whether there are some over RM100,000, but if you have the extra bucks lying around, I think this is a good investment.
Wow, this is really a long post, the longest I've ever written. I actually took 2 days to write this.
Besides checking out Fendi products and knowing the prices, I've learned something else.
I've learnt that, going to a luxury store is not just about buying bags and SLGs. I've learnt that going to a luxury store is where you can communicate with sales assistants and create a relationship with them. But the relationship is not just a customer-sales assistant relationship. The type of relationship that is created is friendship.
These sales assistant are there not just to serve you in the store, sell the bag to you, and see you go and forget you. These sales assistants, they will remember each and every customer and as the customer returns, a stronger bond happens between the customer and sales assistant.
And as time passes, the customer and sales assistant are no longer "customer and sales assistants", they're more like, friends. And these sales assistants are more than happy to help you in any problems including your personal problems.
"You come here, not only to buy bags, but you can share your problems with us and we will be more than happy to help you.". That was what my sales assistant told me.
So as a conclusion, not only at Fendi, but at other designer boutiques, you go there not only to buy designer stuff, but you can definitely share your problems, experiences to the sales assistants, and these FRIENDS would be happy to share theirs too. Hence, this is where friendship happens too.
So, okay. After a long 3 hours I spent at Fendi, and after this LONG post I've written, do you think I'll end the post like that? With a normal goodnight? I don't think so.
Goodnight.
