Irony Alert - Postal Union Election Delayed After Ballots Lost in the Mail

This is too ironic but shows the utter incompetence of public unions, the U.S.P.S. in general and really anything the government runs besides the Military.

This is also yet another reason I will never vote absentee if I can avoid it,,,,,,,

FoxNews.com - Irony alert.

The American Postal Workers Union has extended its internal election after thousands of ballots got lost . . . in the mail.

Federal News Radio reports that the union's election committee was supposed to be counting those ballots this week in downtown Washington, D.C., but that only about 39,000 -- a fraction of the membership -- have been received. The union traditionally uses mail-in voting to elect national officers, but something went wrong this year.

Many members said they never got their ballots.

In response, the union has extended the deadline to Oct. 14. Workers have until close of business Thursday to ask for a new ballot. It's unclear whether the mail mix-up will become an eleventh-hour campaign issue.

The union of postal clerks is separate from the National Association of Letter Carriers, which comprises postal workers who deliver the mail.

Maybe the union should have used FedEx insted, a non-union for profit parcel delivery company unhampered by union incompetence.
