Citibank Refuses to Issue Credit to Gun Parts Makers (Innominatus Inspired)

Friend's, Fellow blogger innominatus left a comment on my last post alerting myself and other's to a situation revolving around CitiBank and the 2nd Amendment.

First, I will reprint the comment from innominatus and following is the story still unfolding,,,,

CitiBank is the exact opposite - I recommend NOT doing business with them. A story has been on local talk radio but I don't think it has gotten any national attention: A guy here in Oregon makes scope rings and mounts for various rifles. His business has been growing and he wanted to expand his shop. He applied for a line of credit at Home Depot for some of the equipment he'll need. Home Depot approved him. A few days later he went in to make some purchases and Home Depot said that they contract with CitiBank for all their credit stuff, and CitiBank changed their mind and denied him. Because, get this, CitiBank refuses to lend to people in the gun and/or military supply industries!!!!!

Now what I found on the net,,,,

From AccurateShooter.com

Recently Charles Lake, President of Warne Scope Mounts, applied for a business line of credit at Home Depot. The application was initially approved, but a day later the credit line was rescinded based on Warne’s industry sector. Lake was expressly told that credit was denied because Warne “make[s] parts for the gun industry.”

Home Depot credit lines are managed by Citibank, so the decision to black-ball Warne Scope Mounts was based on Citibank policies. Rich Grassi, editor of the Tactical Wire, contacted Citibank to find out why Warne’s credit application was denied. Grassi received this reply from Citibank’s Elizabeth Fogarty (Public Affairs):

“Citi does not prohibit the financing of firearms purchases by individuals nor the financing of businesses that manufacture and sell them to individuals for recreational use. However, we do prohibit financing merchants in the non-ancillary military equipment industry, including the financing of businesses that manufacture and or sell firearms for military use.” In response to Grassi’s request for clarification, Citibank replied: “The policy prohibits financing businesses that manufacture and/or sell firearms for military use.”

Now I further went to find out more about Warne Scope Mounts and not only do they have a website (go figure) but also a YouTube channel.

Now whether CitiBank (still owes the U.S. Treasury/Taxpayer) is purposely black-balling Warne due to it's product line or are anti-U.S. military they are clearly in the wrong. But when it comes to the claim of "military use" one only needs to see the video below for about 21 seconds to see this is clearly NOT THE CASE.

Did you catch the part: "To shooting sports enthusiasts around the world" ?

Now sure, the video includes civilian police as a possible customer, so is CitiBank against them as well?

Besides, if one looks at the term 'non-ancillary' in this context it actually means 'non supportive of military equipment' meaning they will not loan money to the PRIVATE FIREARMS INDUSTRY no matter the product.

Warne Scope Mounts is an American Company, employing American workers and using American materials to manufacture their legal American products. What CitiBank is doing is un-American, period!

Now if a person such as myself could easily find this info be it on the company itself or definition of words then CitiBank needs to fire their research and legal team(s) and have proven they are not to big to fail.

It's high time all boycott CitiBank and see to it that they do in fact fail.
