Tokyosnowlet: Memories of Youth

Memories of Youth

You ever have those times where something you read, heard or saw brought you back to your youth and brought a smile? Or maybe it wanted you to reconnect with a distant friend? Or just hearkened back to a day to when things seemed to be better in general? Well The War Planner got me thinking just that and I thank him for that.

With his post: 'Date night, fellow babies' he got me wanting to jam out to some Heavy Metal as some who visit here are aware I enjoy. In my now long distant youth (age wise) I took in as many Heavy Metal concerts as I could afford and the free ones (actually no such thing, somebody paid for them) were always the best.

Now mixing memories of youth, heavy metal and free might be a stretch for some but it brought back all that I started this post with. Long story short, a friend worked at a company (that soon after I did also work for) and he asked if I wanted to go to a concert? I stated I could not afford it, he said no problem, his boss was paying. I asked "what gives'? Well it turned out his boss had bought tickets for his nieces and friends but the friends could not attend for whatever reason, so he got the chance to go and a friend, being me.

Now of course I said no problem, but had no idea of who the other people were and really did not care at that point.

The night arrives, we get inside the arena in downtown Detroit and I meet my friends boss and his nieces,, at this point I realise just why my friend, a very good friend indeed invited me, the nieces are gorgeous !

OK, The band featured was Def Leppard and warming up for them was Krokus.

This is a very fun tune for me and a great driving tune as well,,,,,,(turn up your speakers, I know you want to)

The night was a blast but turned out Krokus was the band that got all the curtain calls (Detroit is a tough crowd).

As stated I eventually worked for the same company as my friend and one of the nieces did as well and ,,,,,,

Memories of youth!
