I tend to surf the blogshpere in Conservative/Libertarian political circles and am dismayed by what I would deem hypocrisy, being most if not all blogs I visit portend to support the 1st Amendment.
I am speaking about the comment sections of several blog's (and you know who you are) where one leaves a comment but waits for "approval".
Now I and other's appreciate these post's but at the same time enjoy the idea of the free-flow of idea's and communication. With this "Wait for Approval" the latter ideal is completely hindered and rubs the wrong way against the very idea of free speech.
Some of us have limited time due to work and other schedules but at the same time would like to exchange ideas in relatively real-time and this is impossible with the way you set-up your comment section.
I completely understand why you have done this but at the same time I know for a fact there is a way to stop unwanted comments in your absence yet continue the free-flow of conversation and ideas.
When I started blogging I knew my opinion and thoughts may prove to be controversial to some and bring on opposition which in fact it did. I have no problem with opposing thought so long as it is not vulgar or racist or a personal attack on other commenter's. At the start I had a few, repeat had, that did those very thing's.
There are many ways in your Blogger account to monitor your site but I advise an outside, on line service. It is at some minimal expense (Google it as I do not advertise) but well worth it being you can indeed back your support for the 1st Amendment, express your thought's and keep the trolls at bay.
Other than that,,,Have a Nice Day!
