I am sure most are aware of the devastating 8.9 magnitude earthquake that hit Japan triggering a tsunami as well creating even more destruction. CP wishes that all join in prayer for the people of Japan.The videos coming out of this tragedy are truly of Biblical proportions,,,,,,,
At this writing a tsunami warning is currently been called for most of the Pacific rim which includes obviously Hawaii as well and am hearing of police sounding the alarm and clearing beach areas.
Just as a point of interest I decided to go to the site of the United States Geological Society (USGS) and create a map of recent earthquakes worldwide.
The criteria I used were magnitudes of 1.0 to 8.9 in strength occurring between the dates of 1/1/2011 and 3/10/2011 which is just over 2 months.
The answer and map I got based on above floored me,,,2,408! Take note of North America in this,,,,,

Thats 2,408 earthquakes just since the beginning of this year!
